About
Hello, my name is Nicholas Fedorov. I am best known for both serious and satire work I have done, and serious work I am currently doing as well. I love old computer hardware, old video game stuff, 90's computer graphics, writing music, Japanese culture, Russian culture (my own), and doing abstract animations. I have been a pianist for 10 years and specialize in anything from synthesizer stuff to classically inspired stuff. I collect old computer and video game stuff as it is fascinating to me. I currently own over 60 computers in all. I create animation, music, and other forms of art. I also love creating 1980's-1990's inspired portraits of myself. This website will help you learn about me and what I do. I speak both English, and enough Japanese to be understood. I grew up speaking Russian as well, but over time, it has escaped me.
SERIOUS WORK
My love for 1990's computer graphics, old video games (NES - N64 era), and computers themselves has compelled me to recreate graphics in this style myself. I do weird animations and pictures that accurately replicate the style as best I can. Messing with computer graphics has always been a fun hobby and it's a great way for me to let out my creative drive. I post my videos on YouTube, and I have many high effort projects in the works right now. Much, much higher effort than what's already there; I'm really only proud of the stuff that's in production compared to what's already out there. My biggest inspirations for visuals would be many CGI tests from the 1980's and 1990's, and specifically, an animated series called Gaither's Pond that premiered in 1997. Gaither's Pond has inspired me more than anything, honestly. It's such a perfect example of the time period that fascinates me, and has made me want to start working with graphics myself. I have all of the episodes on VHS. As far as music goes, I've been a pianist for 10 years and love to write 1980's - 90's inspired stuff to go along with the weird and abstract visuals I create. You may have heard of my first animated series called Franklin and Beyond. It was fun to make, but I can do much better now. What I do isn't supposed to be bad, it's supposed to be retro. The reason Franklin and Beyond has clipping/errors/etc is just because of my lack of skill at the time. I have several other animated series in the works that feature much more complex graphics, my current project titled "Brassington Manor" in particular. The most frequently asked question seems to be why I use text-to-speech voices for my characters. Well, the answer is simple. I don't have voice actors and it's either use the text to speech or don't animate at all. I don't feel my voice is particularly cut out for voice acting or else I'd use it. I may start using real voices in my animations if I get people to voice act for me. This work resides mainly on YouTube and DeviantArt, though I feel I haven't been able to completely release my full potential yet. As I said earlier, the things I have in store for the near future are much more high-effort than anything I've done in the past and are what I am truly proud of. I also have a video game in development, so stay tuned for that.
This is an animated music video I created, and is a great example of my professional work.
Satire Work (No longer in production)
You may or may not know, but a long time ago, I made a set of satire/ironic photos of myself edited with various anime characters, and wrote articles about them in third person out of boredom. Yeah, that was nothing more than a stupid publicity stunt. I even revealed it was satire soon after I made the first couple pics, but took it back because I wanted to feed the flame more. It's over for good now though. This had gotten some publicity and was fun at the time, but now I've decided that satire work is stupid and I have no reason to do purposely cringy things anymore. It got old and dumb. Though, it did draw attention to my serious work as well, and got me a lot more friends, which was a plus. Now, I just focus on the serious stuff, which is animation and music. Honestly, deluding yourself into thinking you're in relationships with fictional characters is really the bottom of the barrel. Waifuism is delusional and stupid.
